Why is Puppy Training So Important?
Puppies start learning before they even arrive home with you. They are like little sponges and are so receptive to learning both good and bad habits. Using positive methods our dog trainer can help you start puppy training right away, teaching them what we would like them to do using fun games.
We can also manage their learning to prevent unwanted behaviors later on. The old phrase ‘a stitch in time’ really applies to our puppies. It is so much easier to prevent behaviours than try and change habits once they are formed.
This is where we come in. Our 5* dog trainer in Dorking, Surrey will help and support you as you teach your puppy good behaviours and prevent unwanted ones later on.
Our puppy training course is specifically designed to give you all the help, advice and training you need, whether this is your first puppy or if you have had puppies before.

Frequently Asked Questions
This class is aimed at puppies up to 20 weeks at the start of the course. The class is the equivalent of primary school where we put in foundation training.
Depending on the breed of your dog you may find our Dog Training Class for Everyday Life more suitable as we focus on skills for older puppies and dogs.
By limiting classes to 4 puppies you get more help as you practice and puppies are less overwhelmed.
I often hear that puppy class didn’t work as my puppy. Usually that is because their puppy was too distracted or anxious to engage in the class.
Absolutely! We love family training so that all the family can enjoy seeing their puppy learn and are consistent at home.
All we ask is that children are able to follow instructions and wait between turns training your puppy.
This gives us an opportunity to help you with problem behaviours such as toilet training, puppy biting and other cheeky behaviours.
In the in person classes we are busy focusing on the puppies, who initially find it hard to not be actively doing something.
By doing the first class virtually puppies are relaxed at home enabling you to be free to ask questions without being distracted.
Classes are 55 minutes long.
The first half is dedicated to learning skills and the second half is puppy socialisation.
We use positive reinforcement in our classes so we use food and toys (or anything else your puppy likes) to reward good behaviours.
We also encourage you to bring a bed or blanket for your puppy to feel comfortable and safe.
You will also want to bring a flat collar, ideally a harness, with a standard non extendable lead.
No we never use punishment in our puppy training.
We train using positive reinforcement to teach our puppies what we would like them to do.
By managing your puppy’s environment we can prevent poor choices and then reward the behaviours we like.
This is not a problem as we send you a summary of the skills we learn that week including videos and step by step guides.
You can then practice at home and get help and guidance from me in the class whatsapp group.
